We all know that brown rice is better for you than white rice. I know a way to cook brown rice perfectly in the microwave. It is much cheaper to buy rice in bulk than it is to purchase boil-in-bag rice.
- Measure one part rice to three parts water. For example, if you have one cup of rice, you will have three cups of water. Put it in a container that is large enough so that the rice will not “boil over”.
- Microwave it (without a lid) for 10 minutes on high. Stir it.
- Cook it on 50% power for 20 minutes.
That’s it! Every time I do this, I have perfectly cooked brown rice. You can season it anyway you like (i.e. salt and butter, cinnamon and sugar).
